Welcome to our website. If you continue to browse and use this website you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern Gourmet Butcher relationship with you in relation to this website.

The term Gourmet Butcher or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the owner of the website whose registered office is Carlswald Estate, Walton Road, Midrand. The term ‘you’ refers to the user or viewer of our website.

The following terms and conditions govern the use of www.gourmetbutcher.co.za website and the online store. They have been formulated in accordance with the CPA (Consumer Protection Act) legislation and aim to promote a fair, accessible and sustainable marketplace for the consumer products that the website currently offers.

1. Agreement of Sale

An agreement of sale only comes into effect if and when:

·         You electronically submit a properly completed order for one or more products in your cart; and

·         Payment is either authorised, or received by meat-me-online in its bank account. Any orders for which full payment is not received will remain in an “Awaiting Payment” status and will not be processed until payment has been received.

2. Payment

Payment in full is required before an order will be processed and delivered.

2.1. Payment methods:

Your payment for any products ordered from www.gourmetbutcher.co.za must be made to Gourmet Butcher bank account according to the following rules:

2.2. Payable by you:

Prices:

The price of each product is displayed with the product listing. In the event of a sale or special offer, the discounted price is displayed.

Delivery Charges:

Delivery is currently free of charge for any order of R1450 or more and limited to Johannesburg and Pretoria, Gauteng.

Orders less than R1450 will be billed, a delivery charge will be processed at checkout. The charge will depend on your area.

Errors:

Gourmet Butcher shall take all reasonable efforts to accurately indicate prices and delivery charges. However, should products be erroneously offered at incorrect prices and/or delivery charges, Gourmet Butcher will not be obliged to sell products at such incorrect prices and/or delivery charges, but shall refund monies paid by you should you not wish to proceed with the purchase at the correct price and/or delivery charge.

Meat Images:

The images of meat on our website are only examples and we cannot guarantee the meat will look exactly as the image.

Portion Sizes:

We will endeavour to provide you with the exact weight of the meat ordered, however due to human error, the meat portions may be slightly over or under the weight stipulated. If however there are large disparities, we will gladly refund or supply another piece of meat to compensate.   

Weekly delivery Schedule: Deliveries are scheduled for Thursdays. Orders must be in by Tuesday midday. We deliver to the address you have requested. If there is no one available to receive the delivery, neither Gourmet Butcher nor the courier service are responsible for the meat being spoiled.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Delivery schedules are only regarded as having commenced upon payment confirmation being received by Gourmet Meats. If products are out of stock the products will be placed on back order for the following week's delivery, the products in stock will be delivered. Gourmet Butcher makes every effort to ensure that the information supplied on the Website is accurate. Where delays and out of stock situations occur, every reasonable effort will be made to inform the Purchaser.
Your delivery will have a delivery slip with all the items you have ordered, at the time of delivery, whomsoever it signing for the goods must check everything is accurate when signing for acceptance of the goods. If there are missing items or incorrect items you must reject the entire delivery, contact customer support immediately and allow us to rectify the problem. Once the delivery has been signed for and the goods accepted the delivery will be considered to be complete, checked and accurate. 

4. Termination of Sales & Cancellation of Orders

By us: Gourmet Butcher reserves the right, for purposes of preventing suspected fraud , to refuse to accept or process any order until full payment has been received, and/or to cancel any sale concluded between you and meat-me-online, in whole or in part, on notice to you.

By You: You are entitled to cancel any sale concluded on this website prior to making payment into Gourmet Butcher bank account. Once payment has been received you will no longer be able to cancel your order unless the delivery is delayed beyond 30 days from the order date for which you will be refunded.

5. Returns Policy

Gourmet Meats guarantees quality products and service. Your satisfaction is our first priority. Once delivery has been signed for the order is non-returnable however if, for any reason, you are dissatisfied with your order, please contact customer support immediately when you receive your order and we will endeavour to rectify the problem ASAP.

You may however reject the entire delivery if you find, at the time of delivery, there are incorrect items or items missing as per the delivery conditions set out in point 3. Deliveries of the T&C's. In such cases we ask you to contact customer support immediately and allow us to rectify the problem.

7. Usage

The website is intended for your personal use only. By registering on the website you are agreeing to comply with these rules. You are responsible for your user account and keeping your password secure. You are responsible for all use of the website by you and by those you allow to use, or provide access to, the website. You may not impersonate, imitate or pretend to be somebody else when using the website.

Termination or Suspension of Access to the Website
Gourmet Butcher and its third party service providers have the right to suspend and/or terminate your ability to access the Website or any portion thereof, for any or no reason, without notice.

8. Images

The website uses various images to depict the various products. These are merely representations of what is being ordered and by no means an actual picture of what the meat will look like. Most products are vacuum packaged and therefore would not be identifiable if an actual photograph were to be supplied. You hereby agree no misrepresentation has taken place in any form or way due to the images used to sell the various products.

9. Changes to this agreement

Gourmet Butcher may, in its sole discretion, change these T&C or any part thereof at any time on notice to you.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you are satisfied with the amendments.  Should you not be satisfied with the amendments, you must refrain from placing any further orders on, or from using in any way, the Website.

10. Use of this Website

The use of this website is subject to the following terms of use:

only. It is subject to change without notice. Prices shown on Web Site are subject to change.

·         Neither we nor any third parties provide any warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy, timeliness, performance, completeness or suitability of the information and materials found or offered on this website for any particular purpose. You acknowledge that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law.
