Old Vines Palomino 2023

Old Vines Palomino is crafted from 100% Palomino grapes grown on an ancient, dry-grown block (planted around 1977) on the high plateau of Piekenierskloof in the Western Cape.

In the glass it presents a refined, subtle nose—think almond skin, fennel fronds, and a trace of jasmine flower—while the palate follows with bright, natural acidity and a distinct minerally / saline edge that speaks clearly of the old-vine, rugged terroir.

This wine pairs beautifully with simply prepared seafood (like scallops or white fish), fish cakes, or a lemon-asparagus risotto—dishes that allow its finesse and texture to shine.

A lovely example of a rare cultivar in South Africa, offering elegance, vitality and a sense of place.
