From the granitic slopes of the Polkadraai Hills in Stellenbosch (South Africa), this 2024 Cabernet Franc is crafted to express elegance, cool-climate freshness and varietal purity.

On the nose you’ll find bright aromas of roses and violets, layered with dried thyme, black cherries and a hint of capsicum green pepper—classic Cabernet Franc traits.
The palate is sleek and refined: juicy red and dark berry fruit (raspberry, cherry), fresh acidity, subtle spice and herb-driven notes, with finely-chiseled tannins and a chalky, savoury finish.

The winemaking is minimalist: biodynamically-farmed vines, around 15% whole-cluster inclusion, open-top steel fermentation, aged in used French oak barrels for about ten months before being bottled.

This is a versatile, elegant red—excellent now with slightly chilled summer evening servings or cellaring for 5–7 years to allow further refinement.

🍽 Food-Pairing Suggestions

This wine pairs wonderfully with dishes that allow its red-berry fruit, herbaceous note and fine tannins to shine without being overpowered.

  • Grilled lamb cutlets rubbed with rosemary and thyme — the herbal character in the wine will echo the seasoning beautifully.
  • Venison pie or ostrich fillet with a soft peppercorn sauce — the gamey meat and focused fruit suit a Cabernet Franc with freshness and structure.
  • Beef fillet or sirloin, simply prepared, with a wild mushroom jus — the tannins will cleanse the palate and the fruit will stand up to richer meat.
  • Smoked duck breast with cherry glaze — the cherry/berry fruit of the wine will mirror the dish, while the smoke and savoury finish in the wine adds complexity.
  • Hard cheeses, especially aged Gouda or mature cheddar — the wine’s structure and fine grip will hold up well to richer, matured cheeses.
